This wonderful sterling silver bangle was created by Danecraft, Felch Co., a joint endeavor of Victor Primavera and James Felch that was founded in Providence, RI in 1934. The name was changed to Danecraft after Primavera bought out Felch in 1945, so this bangle with both the Danecraft and Felch Co. marks would have been manufactured prior to 1945.
This Danecraft sterling silver bangle has a striking Art Deco influence and is one of the most coveted bangles that was made by Danecraft. It features a beautiful repeating design of geometric shapes around its entire circumference. Marvelously bold, engraved half circles, diagonal and curved lines and sun rays seem to almost explode off the bangle. It's an absolute delight for the eyes!
The bangle has an inner diameter of about 2 7/16 inches, a bandwidth of approximately 6mm and weighs 15.0 grams. Its circumference measures 8 1/4 inches around when measured with a tape measure. It is signed and hallmarked "Danecraft Sterling" and with the Felch Co. mark of "FCo" on the inside of the bangle.
This is one of my absolute favorite bangle designs by Danecraft! It is sturdy and substantial and it's in excellent vintage condition! It looks marvelous worn alone on the arm, but would also look fantastic stacked with other silver bangles. It's a fine piece to add to your Danecraft sterling collection and would make a fine gift. It's ready to wear or to gift out of the box!
