Vintage Mexico Sterling Silver Yellow Agate Ring, Banded Agate, Mexican, Flower, Quatrefoil, Handcrafted, Rope, Size 4 1/2 #b673

For offer today I have this wonderful handcrafted sterling silver and yellow agate ring from Mexico!

This unique sterling silver ring features a large yellow banded agate cabochon that has been set into a rope-detailed bezel setting. Thick sterling silver wires wrap around the stone in an open flower petal or quatrefoil pattern. The agate stone has a natural, unpolished finish giving this ring a rustic appearance. It makes a beautiful statement on the hand!

The ring measures about a size 4 1/2 and it weighs 4.5 grams. It is clearly marked "Mexico" on the inside of the ring band. There are some other areas inside the band that appear to be a partial 925 and Taxco registration mark, but I'm was unable to make them out. Since the ring is a small size and the appearance of the inside of the band is not completely smooth, the ring may have been re-sized obliterating the marks. The ring was tested on a Tri Electronics gold and silver tester and tested positively as sterling silver.

This is such a beautiful and unique ring! Being handmade, I believe it's a one of a kind piece! The ring is in very good vintage condition. As mentioned before, the agate cabochon has an unpolished finish. The ring is handmade and as such, it has variations in smoothness and design not found in machine-made pieces. The inside of the band is not completely smooth, and it was most likely re-sized in the past. It's a truly distinctive piece that would make a great addition to a Mexican silver jewelry collection!

CONDITION: VERY GOOD, PRE-OWNED, VINTAGE CONDITION. MINOR SURFACE SCRATCHES FROM PREVIOUS WEAR AND USE AND SOME MILD TARNISH. AGATE STONE HAS A NATURAL, UNPOLISHED FINISH. RING IS HANDMADE AND AS SUCH HAS VARIATIONS IN DESIGN AND SMOOTHNESS NOT FOUND IN MACHINE MADE PIECES. THE INSIDE OF THE RING BAND IS NOT COMPLETELY SMOOTH INDICATING THE RING WAS PROBABLY RE-SIZED IN THE PAST.
